The Mountain Top Inn & Resort

Tucked away in the green mountains of Vermont is a classic four season resort called the Mountain Top Inn & Resort. The inn is set on a sprawling 350 acres of majestic mountain and lake views. Originally a turnip farm in the 1870s the Mountain Top Inn has been welcoming guests since the 1940s.

In 2002 Steve and Lauren Bryant bought the inn. They have been working hard to make it better than ever. The new rooms and suites are stunning with the beautiful vistas that surround the Mountain Top Inn. The romantic setting and endless array of activities makes this an ideal getaway for couples, families, and special occasions.

The spring, summer, and fall attracts novice and experienced riders alike to the Equestrian Center. With guided trail rides, lessons, and clinics there is something for riders of every level. The Mountain Top Inn also offers many other activities from which to choose including tennis and croquet. The private beach offers kayaks, canoes, scenic pontoon boat tours and of course swimming. Those who love the out of doors can enjoy fly fishing, clay bird shooting, hiking and mountain biking which are all available on site. Located just a short dirve away are some beautiful golf courses.

In the colder months the entire resort is transformed in to a winter wonderland. The Moutain Top Inn & Resort has the oldest nordic ski and snowshoe center in the United States. The Moutnain Top Inn's 80 kilometers of trails offer plenty of options for classic and skate skiing, back country and snowshoeing for all levels. Having 60 kilometers of those trails groomed means great skiing for everyone. Enjoy ice skating on the lake, sledding, dog sled tours, or a horse drawn sleigh ride before settling in for the night beside a cozy fire.

No matter the season the Higlands Dining Room offers sumptuous New American cuisine in the refined ambiance of a traditional Mountain Lodge. Experience dining excellence with innovative cuisine and fresh local ingrediants. For a more casual dining experience The Highlands Tavern has pub style seating or sit out on the terrace, weather permitting. The tavern has bistro fare, an extensive wine list, and full service bar.
